The pattern of the technical education aimed at meeting the scientific challenges of the modern age must be exceptionally effective so that it enhances the capabilities of an individual thereby rendering a strong foundation for the development of the country.

The rapid and sudden changes in the mind boggling technological world are too fascinating. The manufactures of scientific instruments especially computers of advanced countries go on frequently changing the models thereby evincing the swift progress in applied sciences and emerging fields of technology. Technological advancement has offered tremendous alterations for the betterment of mankind and it will be, in future, more attractive in multifarious scientific thrust areas. With great emphasis, it is strongly felt, a top priority should be given to promote education among the masses to abolish ignorance through the spread of knowledge in terms of technology and engineering skills, the facilities, for which have expanded systematically.

Activities have been extended for application of science and technology for the uniform development to establish the powerful linkage between various group of techno-educational systems comprising of Technocrats, Researchers, Scientists and Engineers, etc.

Engineering science is one of the major fields that fulfil the needs of mankind in several ways. It is undoubtedly essential to produce trained manpower in an adequate number for the substance of the economic development of the country. The process of learning of pure and applied science and technology, which has revolutionized human life, should be made an opportunity for acquiring knowledge so that it can be used to improve standards of training to a greater extent and ultimately to promote basic scientific culture in conformity with the overall development of the country and the state, in particular.

The institute, namely “Royal Polytechnic College”, generally abbreviated as ‘RPC’., recognized by Jammu and Kashmir Government, approved by All India Council of Technical education, Government of India, New Delhi and affiliated to J&K State Board of Technical Education, is a modest step to stand up for this noble cause.

The college render’s Yeoman’s service to the student community who are aspirant to achieve the technical education and have a great zeal to become wizards in the field of engineering science and technology. The aims and objectives of the college are to provide facilities which will serve feedback in the field of engineering to encompass the development of this region and valley as well. The main thrust areas of the college are:

1) Promotion of quality and excellence;

2) Providing broader opportunities for vocational education at different levels;

3) Gearing the technical education to meet the college of emerging areas of science and technology.

It will not be out of place to mention here that till now the college has produced four batches of students in the above cited disciplines who have got selected in various organisations both in Government and Private Sector. The members of the Management feel it their privilege to extend their zeal and endeavour, supreme state of competence and confidence in the trainings of various disciplines offered by the “Royal Polytechnic College” to face the challenges of our state so as to achieve the target.
